The Colosseum from Italy

The most famous example of Roman architecture is the Colosseum, formerly named Amphitheatrum Flavium. It is located in the heart of the city of Rome and it is the largest amphitheatre ever built in the Roman empire. The stamp issued by PosteItaliane in March 2008 represents the monument "merged" with a stamp to promote the International Festival of Philately, which took place in Rome in October 2009.
