Swiss Air Force Aircraft from Switzerland


In March 2014, Swiss Post issued a series of two stamps to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force. 


The maxicard shows the Swiss jet aerobatic team, the Patrouille Suisse, which uses six Northrop F-5E in a red and white livery that recalls the national flag. On the other side of the card, the stamp depicts the other aircraft currently in use to protect and control the Swiss airspace: the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet.

Tupolev Strategic Bombers from Russia



On 13th August 2013 the Russian post issued a mini sheet to celebrate the 125 birth anniversary of the Soviet aircraft designer Andrey Nikolaevich Tupolev. The stamp used on the card is part of this mini sheet and it shows a Tupolev Tu-16, a strategic bomber used in Russia until 1993. On the front of the card there is a Tupolev Tu-95, another strategic bomber which is still in service with the Russian Air Force.

Bicycles from Russia


The card shows the Columbia Playbike produced in 1969. Columbia is the brand under which the American Pope Manufacturing Company manufactured bicycles since 1878. The stamp features the Zich-1 three speed derailleur bicycle from 1946, manufactured in Russia by the Aviation Factory no 153. The stamp is part of a series of four values issued in 2008 by Russian Post dedicated to this vehicle.

Bangkok Suvarnbhumi Airport from Thailand

Suvarnbhumi Airport is one of the main airports in Southeast Asia. Its name means "Golden Land" and it was chosen by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. On the card there are pictures of this world's fourth largest single-building airport terminal. The stamp, issued by Thailand Post in 2012 to commemorate the centenary of the Ministry of Transport, shows the free-standing control tower of the airport, which is the world's tallest one with its 132 meters. The stamp is part of a series of four values.

SS Rotterdam from the Netherlands


The SS Rotterdam is the former flagship of the Holland America Line. It is 228 meter long, 28 meters wide, 61 metres in height, and it is also referred to as La Grande Dame. Built in 1959, in 2010 it was granted one of the most beautiful spots it can wish for: Katendrecht in the very heart of Rotterdam. It is today a hotel with 257 rooms. The stamp was issued by PostNL

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from India


The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and historic railway station in Mumbai. Formerly known as Victoria Railway Terminus, as it was built to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887, today it is the busiest railway station in India. It was renamed in 1996 in honour of the Maratha warrior King Shivaji.
The stamp is one of the 4 stamps belonging to the "Indian Railway Stations" series, issued by India Post in August 2009.

Classic American Cars from the U.S.A.


Livermore, California: on the last Sunday of September this town hosts the annual "Nostalgia Day Car Show", with about 1,000 classic cars on the streets. A charity event that supports youth and community organizations. In line with these classic American Automobiles on the postcard, the stamp (issued in 2011 by US Postal Service) celebrates another piece of history on the 4 wheels. It is the black-and-yellow Marmon "Wasp" that won the first Indianapolis 500 Mile Race in 1911.

Lifeboats from the United Kingdom


In 2008, the Royal Mail has issued a series of 6 stamps to mark the centenary of the International Morse code distress signal SOS (· · · - - - · · ·). One of these stamps has been used on the card with a painting by Mel Whittaker which represent a Mersey Class Lifeboat. On the stamp, instead, the Severn-class "Edna Windsor", shown at Barra Island.
