Jasmund National Park and Chalk Cliffs from Germany

The white chalk cliffs of Rügen are part of the Jasmund National Park. Rügen is the largest German island and it is located in the Baltic Sea. According to a legend, in ancient times the elected king had to climb the cliffs from the sea and sit in the chair on the top. For this reason, apparently, the cliffs are known also as the Königsstuhl, that is "the Chair of the King". In January 2012 Deutsche Post has issued one single stamp to celebrate this stunning place.
