Dojran Lake is one of the three natural lakes in Macedonia, and also the warmest. It is said it is also the richest lake in fish in Europe. The fishing huts (Mandra) on this lake are very peculiar and reflect the ancient fishing tradition of the area, still performed with the assistance of kormorans and gratings. Macedonian Postal Agency has issued the stamp used on the card depicting one of these typical Mandras in 2011.
